Frisbii accelerates the rollout of e-invoicing across Europe to meet new regulatory requirements

Frankfurt, 9th July 2026 – As e-invoicing gradually becomes mandatory across Europe, Frisbii is strengthening its e-invoicing offering to help subscription businesses meet new regulatory requirements without adding operational burden.

Each European country is rolling out its own rules at its own pace, with implementation timelines, invoice formats and transmission methods that vary from one market to the next. For businesses selling their services across multiple countries, keeping up with these regulatory changes is an increasing challenge.

To address this complexity, Frisbii now embeds e-invoicing directly within its recurring billing, subscription management and payments platform. Businesses can generate, validate, transmit and, where required, archive compliant electronic invoices without relying on an additional solution or integration.

As part of this European strategy, Frisbii added France to its list of supported countries earlier this year — a strategically important market for the company and its growing customer base, including users of its Salesforce app. The platform will continue rolling out to Germany, Denmark and other European markets in line with regulatory timelines and customer needs.

Compliance is becoming a growth issue #

While most current regulations concern B2B transactions, the rules vary significantly by country and may also cover certain B2G transactions, or even elements of B2C reporting in some cases.

For subscription-based businesses, this regulatory fragmentation complicates international expansion plans. Every new market requires new invoice formats, new transmission platforms and new compliance obligations.

According to the European Commission, wider adoption of e-invoicing could reduce VAT fraud by around €11 billion a year while lowering businesses’ administrative and compliance costs. This shift reflects a deeper transformation of invoicing processes across Europe.

An integrated approach rather than another compliance tool #

Rather than adding a dedicated compliance tool, Frisbii embeds e-invoicing directly into businesses’ existing billing cycle.

From a single platform, users can:

  • Automatically generate compliant electronic invoices
  • Produce the regulatory format required for each country
  • Validate invoices before transmission to limit errors and rejections
  • Transmit invoices through approved channels, such as PEPPOL and other relevant national networks
  • Track transmission status
  • Archive invoices where required by regulation
  • Connect data to finance and ERP systems

By automating these steps, businesses reduce manual processing, improve the reliability of their processes, and can expand into new European markets without multiplying compliance tools.

“E-invoicing is quickly becoming a prerequisite for any business operating in Europe. Our goal is to remove the complexity of compliance so merchants can focus on growth. Whether they’re entering a single new market or ten, they shouldn’t have to become experts in invoice formats, transmission networks or local regulations. We take on that complexity so they can grow their business with confidence,” says David McGuinness, Chief Product Officer at Frisbii.

Managing Europe’s regulatory complexity #

One of the biggest challenges of e-invoicing lies in the sheer number and diversity of national requirements and e-invoicing regulations.

Most European formats are built on the EN 16931 standard, which defines a common model for electronic invoices. Frisbii supports this standard as well as the main national formats derived from it — including Factur-X, XRechnung, ZUGFeRD, PEPPOL BIS, OIOUBL and FatturaPA.

Businesses can therefore continue using their familiar recurring billing environment, while the platform automatically applies the regulatory requirements specific to each market.

Keeping pace with Europe’s evolving e-invoicing regulations #

E-invoicing obligations will keep evolving over the coming years, with different timelines across member states.

Frisbii will continue expanding its e-invoicing capabilities in line with regulatory developments and customer needs, enabling businesses to manage their subscriptions, payments, billing and compliance from a single platform, wherever they operate.
